I attended Brendan Burchard’s Influencer Summit 2020 between October 21 – 23 and learned from so many inspiring entrepreneurs. Here is one of the lessons I learned from Jenna Kutcher of the @GoalDigger Podcast.
There are two types of Entrepreneurs: Those who are accomplishments based and those who are lifestyle based. It’s important to know which type you are and make sure you know what SUCCESS looks like to YOU. Doing so will help you in the following 6 ways:
1) Not overwork
2) Stop comparing yourself to others
3) Focus on your own growth & journey
4) Have more time to do what you love
5) Enjoy each precious moment of your day
6) Live with more JOY & GRACE
As a serial entrepreneur, I’ve had my struggles figuring what is it I truly want and would find mysel like a leaf in the wind, following the hottest trends, the latest book I’ve read, or join a new movement without even checking to see if these actions would move me closer to the life I want to live & become the person I want to be. I had that shiny object syndrome and while at times it made me good money, it never truly left me 100% satisfied & happy. I felt empty and felt like I’m not serving the world with my unique gifts. Until one day I had an epiphany and realized I’m only an accomplishments based entrepreneur up to a certain point but after that it’s all about lifestyle for me.
I choose time with family vs time to work more. I choose travel vs material items. I choose mentors that have the same values as me vs those having valuables that I want. But that’s me and nothing wrong with all of us wanting different things. Just make sure to spend some time to know who you are, why you do what you do, and what Success looks like for you!
